Levelhead Gaming recently visited TCL’s new Melbourne headquarters for an exclusive look at its latest home entertainment technology. We got our eyes across the brand’s upcoming range of televisions, monitors, and a little soundbar that packs a serious wallop.
The visit gave us a closer look at how TCL is thinking about entertainment in the modern Australian home. Movies, sport, streaming, game nights, and the kind of setup that makes you want to settle in and stay there. Preferably drenched in immaculate colour.
During the visit, we spoke with Pat Chen from TCL, who walked us through the company’s SQD Mini LED technology. SQD stands for Super Quantum Dot, but the simple version is this: cleaner colour, brighter highlights, better contrast, and more detail in darker scenes.
Nathan and I were also taken through a private no recording demonstration of TCL’s latest television technology. It was one of those moments where the tech made more sense in person than it ever could on paper, or even on YouTube. Seeing the difference in real life gave us a much better understanding of what TCL is trying to achieve with its next generation displays, and how the competition stacks up.

Sound was another big part of the experience, with TCL highlighting its partnership with Bang & Olufsen. It made sense in the room. A strong screen gets your attention, but great sound is what helps the whole experience feel complete, even if the soundbar itself may seem small at first. We were welcomed with the opening scene of Top Gun, and honestly, it sounded like a cinema.
Sport fans were part of the conversation too, especially with TCL’s Olympic Games partnership running through to 2032. With Brisbane on the horizon, it is easy to see why sharper motion, bigger screens, and more immersive home viewing are becoming such a focus for Australian audiences.
And of course, we had to ask about gaming...
TCL also showed us how the team is bringing its display thinking into monitors, with a focus on smooth performance, stronger contrast, and vibrant colour for players. Taking the big ideas from their TVs and fandangling them down into a desktop sized package was pretty cool to see.
If you want to experience this stuff first hand, we recommend asking to see it in store. It is the kind of image quality that makes more sense when it is right in front of you.
A big thank you to the team for inviting Levelhead Gaming into the new HQ and giving us a look at what is coming next. We left with plenty to think about, and a few ideas for the next movie night, match day, and couch co op session.
